Montse Galbany started drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil, and has never stopped since then.

She is an illustrator and graphic designer living in Granollers, a city close to Barcelona. She studied graphic design at ELISAVA University and started freelancing in 2017 mainly in editorial projects.

Montse works digitally with kind shapes and vibrant colors to tell stories. Her illustrations are vivid, playful and reflect her graphic design background allowing her to create inspiring compositions thinking about type and illustration as a whole.

In 2021, her first fully illustrated book ‘Benditos Errores’ was published by Mosquito Books. She was in charge of creating all the illustrations and designing the cover, page layouts and texts. The book was translated into 9 languages including English, French, German, Italian and Chinese. In 2022 her second book ‘Disgustingly Delicious’ was released with the same editorial. And in this 2023 ‘Ancient Egypt’ book was published by Alba Editorial.

Making ceramic sculptures is her passion. With clay modeling she creates and experiments in 3 dimensions.

One of her great sources of inspiration come from nature and spending time outdoors hiking, mountain biking, skiing, taking cold plunges on mountain lakes or “mushroom hunting”.

She wishes to keep drawing forever while exploring the world next to Marc Cubillas and Mel (their mixed shepherd dog) on their camper van.
